OUTER BANKS KAYAK FISHING TOURNAMENT
BENEFIT:
For 2018 Kitty Hawk Surf Co. will donate 100% of Tournament Entry Fees for the Outer Banks Kayak Fishing Tournament to Hurricane Florence relief efforts, to be shared evenly by American Red Cross, Eastern North Carolina Region, and the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

Payment will also be accepted at the MANDATORY Captain’s Meeting on Friday, October 5 at 6:00 PM at Kitty Hawk Surf Co. in Nags Head (MP 12.5).
COMPETITION DETAILS:
- Mandatory Captain’s Meeting*: Friday – October 5, 2018
- Tournament Date: Saturday – October 6, 2018
All fish must be caught from your watercraft. Wading is not permitted. This is a photo catch and release style tournament. Competitors are permitted to launch STARTING at 6:00 AM on Saturday morning, October 6. Competitors that launch prior to 6:00 AM will be disqualified. All competitors must check back in at the Kitty Hawk Surf Co (3933 S. Croatan Hwy Nags Head, NC 27959) no later than 6:00 PM to be eligible for awards.
Competitors must attend the Captain’s Meeting on Friday Evening 6:00 PM at Kitty Hawk Surf Co (MP 12.5)
Photography Rules: Catch submissions shall be accepted between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Submission pictures will not be accepted before 6:00 AM or after 5:00PM on October 6. All submission pictures must show the fish length from a closed mouth upper lip to end of unpinched tail on an approved measuring board. Measurement markings must be visible. The only approved measuring boards are the yard sticks distributed at the captains meeting or a Hog Trough. All submissions must include the custom Kitty Hawk Surf Co. badge that will be distributed at the Captain’s Meeting. Blurry photos, fish movement, open mouths, and covered measurement marks may result in a docking of your fishes total length.
Tournament Species: Flounder, Speckled Trout, and Red Drum. Slam division is one of each. No double-dipping. Fish submitted for the Slam cannot be submitted for the individual categories.
Area Boundaries: Fishing is allowed anywhere within the following boundaries: Wright Memorial Bridge in Kitty Hawk to the North; Hatteras Inlet to the South; Up to one (1) mile offshore to the East: as far West as the Currituck and Manns Harbor shorelines. Please reference the map below:
