Come join us for a week of outdoor excitement! Relaxing and also challenging, this retreat offers a progressive set of lessons in kayaking, surfing, and yoga; a perfect opportunity to experience the beautiful coastal waters of North Carolina. Both woman’s only and co-ed retreats are designed to accommodate all levels of athletic ability. Healthy, organic and locally sourced meals and accommodations in a classic Outer Banks beach house are included. Our qualified and compassionate staff caters to meet the needs of clients 24 hours a day utilizing a healthy vegetarian diet and the practice of yoga to balance and support the body, enhancing the ability to develop the technical skills of surfing and kayaking. Clients leave with not only a better understanding of surfing, kayaking, and yoga but the confidence to practice these skills on their own in the future.

Carlisle Taboo SUP Paddle
The Carlisle Taboo stand up paddleboard paddle allows you paddle your stand up board, and also easily converts to a kayak paddle. This two-in-one paddle includes two T-grip handles which let you adjust the length based on your height. It also features a second blade which allows you to easily convert the stand up paddle into a 230 cm kayak paddle. Stand up or sit down, the Taboo SUP paddle helps you do both.
Tahoe Woody SUP Paddle
The Tahoe Woody SUP paddle was designed for performance. This all wood SUP paddle has a 5 laminate, ovaled shaft of Northern White Ash and Western Red Cedar. The Ash laminates provides the shaft strength and flexability throughout your stroke, the Red Cedar laminates make the paddle light. The end of the shaft is non-tapered which allows for cut-down adjustment of up to 6 inches. The Walnut “D” style grip seats comfortably into the palm or your hand. The laminated Western Red Cedar blade has an 11-degree bend for stroke efficiency. Blade faces are fiberglass reinforced. The blade edges are fully protected with a Dynel Tuff Edge™. The paddle is sealed and varnished for long lasting protection against the elements.

Stand up paddleboard (SUP) lessons and rentals on the Outer Banks from Kitty Hawk Kites will get you stoked on the SUP craze. Our store at 6150 North Croatan Highway, at Mile Post 1 in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina is located on an ideal learning location, sheltered from all winds to provide year-round glassy and calm learning conditions for stand up paddleboarding. SUPs for rent are real epoxy SUPs with carbon fiber paddles and stable fin setups. It is a great way to explore the sounds of the Outer Banks. We also offer SUP lessons in the surf for people ready to catch waves. If you just need to rent a SUP while in the Outer Banks, call us and we can deliver one to your door for the week.
Never SUPed? We can teach you the basics in an hour and a half lesson. Our shop is located on a calm bay of the Currituck Sound so it is always EPIC SUPing conditions. No matter what the wind direction is is always glassy here.
